CAPE VINCENT, NY —Â Kathleen M. Prouty, 76, died Oct. 23, 2022, at her residence, where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born Aug. 18, 1946, in Canandaigua, the daughter of Leon and Elizabeth Ross Rose, she graduated from Honeoye Falls High School.
Kathleen was an insurance adjuster for All State Insurance Company, covering the Rochester area for over 34 years, retiring in 2003.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and caring for many people in the area.
Surviving are two daughters, Melanie Prouty of Kerkonkson, N.Y. and Katie Balcom of Clayton; her companion of over 24 years, Huck Balcom; two brothers, Les Rose and Shane Rose, both of Lima, NY; a grandson, Matt Balcom; nieces and nephews.
A sister, Eileen Ralston, predeceased her.
Donations can be made in her name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street Road, Watertown, N.Y. 13601.
Arrangements are with the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton.
