Kim D. Burns Wallace, 60, Chaumont

CHAUMONT, NY — Kim D. Burns Wallace, 60, Chaumont, passed away early Tuesday morning at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born May 7, 1958, in Watertown, the daughter of Roy Keesh and Gwen Kilburn, she graduated from General Brown High School and continued on with college in a Vet Tech Program.

Kim was currently the town clerk for the Town of Lyme. She earlier had careers as veterinary technician, artificial insemination, realtor, and owned and operated the KimBucktu bar and restaurant in Dexter. She also dabbled in taxidermy.

Kim was previously on the School Board for Lyme Central School and a communicant of River Community Church of Clayton.

She married Richard D. Wallace on Sept. 25, 1999, at St. John’s in the Wilderness Church at Paul Smiths.  A previous marriage to Rob Warner ended in divorce.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Wallace; two daughters: Mariah Wallace and Rikki Wallace, both of Chaumont; a granddaughter, Blake Ella Biondolillo, Chaumont; her father, Roy Perry (JoAnn), Spring Hills, Florida; her mother, Gwen Burns and companion Stub Woodside, Dexter; a sister, Darcy (Clancy) Nidell, Manassas, VA; two brothers Corbin (Vanessa) Burns, Annandale, VA, and Darren (Maria) Burns, Brooksville, FL; nieces and nephews.

Kim will be sadly missed as her smiles and laughter and hugs for everyone was so much a part of her.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the River Community Church in Clayton.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
