Lawman acquires Lundy Construction

News release

WATERTOWN, NY —  Lawman Heating and Cooling, Sackets Harbor, NY, announced today that it is expanding further into the general construction market, and has completed the process to acquire Lundy Construction, LLC, Watertown, NY. The acquisition of Lundy Construction includes the Butler Building Career Buildership franchise, its intellectual property, and assets.

In a joint release, Corry Lawler, CEO/Owner of Lawman Heating and Cooling, and Michael Lundy, CEO/Owner of Lundy Construction, LLC commented on the acquisition. “We are both second generation in our parent’s companies. Through their hard work and vision two very successful companies were formed and thrived in different sectors of the construction industry. A couple of years ago our paths came together, and after numerous conversations and meetings it became clear that we could benefit each other for future growth.” Since its founding in 1978, Lawman Heating and Cooling has been a leader in mechanical contracting for government related projects. Over the years it has been able to develop several other self-performing departments such as general construction, electrical, plumbing, roofing, site/civil, and sheet metal manufacturing. As their capabilities have grown, including a joint venture in the northeast, they have been successful in executing nearly $1 Billion dollars in contacts over the last 20 years alone. Lundy Construction, LLC has been a leader in design/build construction, as well as Northern New York’s Butler Builder, since its founding in 1974. Lundy Construction has designed and built over 2 million square feet of community, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as almost $50 Million dollars in private real estate development,  leasing, and management.

The acquisition will provide increased capabilities to Lawman Heating and Cooling, as well as the formation of a new general construction services company: Design Build Innovations (DBi). Lawman will now be able to offer expanded general construction services, through Butler Building systems, to federal and state public sector projects. Lawman will also be able to engage in government programs such as Sourcewell and GSA.

Following in the path of Lundy Construction, Design/Build Innovations (DBi) will focus exclusively on private sector design/build and real estate development projects. DBi will be in a unique situation where it can be almost completely self-performing in its services. This means, in addition to design/build and general construction services, DBi will be able to work collaboratively with Lawman for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. This will keep the majority of services needed for any construction project in-house, while providing a total single-source solution. DBi clients will be able to count on improved communication, efficiencies, and an unmatched overall general construction capability in Northern New York.

Transition and establishment of DBi will begin immediately. Michael E. Lundy will assume the role of President of Design Build Innovations, and Mr. Lawler will retain his role of CEO/Owner at Lawman Heating and Cooling. Lundy Construction will finish existing commitments and projects for the remainder of 2022. Future projects will be undertaken by DBi construction services.
