LOWVILLE, NY ─ Lewis County General Hospital (LCGH) is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 Medical Staff Officers.
Thomas Birk, DO, is the new Medical Staff President succeeding Shereen Palmer, MD.
Manoj Vora, MD was elected as Vice President.
Steven Lyndaker, MD will serve as Secretary/Treasurer.
The terms run through June 30, 2020.
“This is in addition to the excellent care they offer to their patients every day,” stated Gerald R. Cayer, LCGH Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful for our physician leadership and medical staff who continue to help us provide quality, safe patient care throughout the health system.”
As the Medical Staff President, Dr. Birk is responsible for providing leadership and driving the highest level of safety and quality on behalf of the medical staff as well as working with the board and management team.
“I am excited to work with my colleagues, the board of managers, and management team through this unique role to help ensure safe and quality health care delivery in Lewis County,” stated Thomas Birk, DO, LCGH Medical Staff President.
In addition to the officers, the 2019-2020 Chiefs of Service are: Anesthesia, Abdelrahman Elgallad, MD, Emergency, Mark Parshall, MD, Family Practice, M. Lynn Pisaniello, MD, Medicine/ICU, Manoj Vora, MD, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gerard Crawford, MD, Pathology/Clinical Laboratory, Thomas Birk, DO, Pediatrics, Mary Lou Feilmeier, MD, Radiology, G. Michael Maresca, MD, and Surgery, Jon Baker, MD.
Both the Officers and Chiefs of Service are elected by physicians with privileges at the LCGH and are instrumental in establishing policies, guidelines and recommendations in the delivery of evidence-based medicine.
