Leonora L. “Judy” Eddy, 94, Theresa

THERESA, NY — Leonora L. “Judy” Eddy, 94, formerly of Park Avenue, passed on Monday, July 16, 2018, in the care of her family.

She was born March 3,1924, in London England, the only daughter to the late Charles and Florence Davy-Douglas Turner. As a young woman living in England during WWII, she chose to stay with her family during the Blitzkrieg, working in a factory making sights for cannons before coming to the U.S. in 1946.

She married Gene Eddy on May 9, 1953.

She cherished her family and dearest friends. Known as “Nanny” she was a wonderful homemaker, pie maker, and an amazing seamstress. She was a care provider to so many families in the neighborhood.

Nanny spent extra time volunteering at the Theresa Library and Nearly New Shop.

Survivors include her son Davy-Douglas Eddy and Nancy Callahan of South Portland, Maine; a son-in-law, Jan Martusewicz of Theresa; a granddaughter, Taylor Eddy and great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cassidy and Kyle Hicks, Boothbay, Maine, grandson, Ian T. Martusewicz of Hurley, granddaughter and her husband, Brynn Martusewicz-Fults and Joseph Fults, and greatgrandchildren, Ninette, Caelun, Ellaina and Wilhem Fults.

Her husband, Gene Eddy, and a daughter, Ninette Martusewicz, both died before her.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Theresa Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa.
