LOWVILLE, NY —Â Lewis County received reports of the first two cases of COVID-19 on March 28, 2020.
As of today, there have been a total of 21 cases of COVID-19 in the county. The additional case was identified Sunday evening. This case is in isolation at home.
With each confirmed case of COVID-19, Public Health staff investigate and identify close contacts and exposure risk. Those persons who have been in contact with the positive case have been placed in quarantine and will be monitored for symptoms and tested. Recommendations for the use of isolation and quarantine are an important component of a multi-layered strategy to prevent sustained spread of COVID-19 in New York State.
To date, Lewis County Public Health reports the following number of quarantines, isolations, tests and results for COVID-19 testing and monitoring in Lewis County:
Individuals Under Quarantine – 88
Individuals Under Isolation – 9
Total Tested – 1,173
Negative Results – 1,132
Pending Results – 20
Confirmed Cases – 21
Individuals Recovered – 12
