Lewis County man allegedly barricades himself inside his home, troopers say

LOWVILLE, NY —  On November 13, 2022, State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested Simeon L. Kent, age 50 from Constableville, NY for Criminal Contempt first-degree, a class “E” felony, and Harassment second-degree, a violation after he violated an order of protection during a domestic dispute in the village of Constableville, Lewis County.

Kent had left the residence prior to the patrol’s arrival. While patrols attempted to locate the suspect in the area he returned home and barricaded himself in his residence.

Crisis Negotiators and the NYSP Special Operation Response Team (S.O.R.T.) responded, and the suspect surrendered without incident.

Kent was arraigned in the town of Martinsburg Court and remanded to the custody of the Lewis County Sheriff without bail, due to previous convictions.

The State Police was assisted at the scene by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.
