Linda M. Baty, 73, Stone Mills

STONE MILLS —  Linda M. Baty, 73, of State Route 180, passed away, Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY, after a lengthy battle with dementia.

Born July 12, 1949, in Carthage, NY, the daughter of Mike and Doris Dalton Ricco.  She graduated from Carthage High School in 1967 and was a Girl Scout from elementary school through high school. She went on to Jefferson Community College where she received an Associates degree in Nursing in 1969 and then received a bachelor’s of science degree from Empire College in 1995 and retired as a Registered Nurse from Jefferson County Public Health in 2010.

Linda married Timothy A. Baty at Asbury United Methodist Church, Watertown, NY, on Oct. 18, 1975.

She was a member of the Stone Mills United Methodist Church and served on several committees over the years, a trustee for the Stone Mills Cemetery Corporation, a member of the Northern New York Agricultural Museum at Stone Mills, displaying at the annual craft fair for over 10-years.

Linda enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, painting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 46-years, Timothy; a son, Brian L., (Angela Makuch) Baty, Watertown, NY; a daughter, Rebekah Baty DeMorgan, Shalimar, FL; two grandchildren, Lucas DeMorgan and Logan DeMorgan, Shalimar, FL; a brother, James (Mary) Ricco, Dupont, WA.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at the Stone Mills Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Pierce and Pastor Jeannie Ebert, officiating. Burial will be in Stone Mills Cemetery, immediately following services.  Family and friends are invited to gather at the Stone Mills Agricultural Museum, following burial.

There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stone Mills Cemetery.
