WATERTOWN, NY — Louis O. Powell, Jr., 77, Watertown, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, at his home.
Calling hours will be held 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in North Watertown Cemetery.
Louis was born in Watertown, August 24, 1941 a son to Louis and Marion Monaghan Powell, Sr. He was employed by the City of Watertown DPW for several years retiring due to an injury at work.
He enjoyed flower gardening, his dogs Bella and Tosha, socializing, being with his friends and was well known as “One Punch Louie”.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Powell, Watertown; daughter, Michele (Robert) Bryant, Georgia; step-children, Kathy (Tom) Falcone, Malvern, PA; Tammy (Tim) Clark, Watertown; Kimberly Fleming, Watertown; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Donald Powell, Watertown; Michael (Debbie) Powell, Watertown; two sisters, Lana “Jeanie” (John) Hall, South Carolina; Marion “Bitty” Roberts, Watertown and several nieces and nephews, and his former wife Sandra Castagner Powell.
Besides his parents, Louis was predeceased by his wife Shelia Marino Powell and three siblings.
