Lowville teen facing felony over SnapChat post, police say

LOWVILLE, NY — Chad W. Calkins, 18, Lowville, was charged by Lowville police on Oct. 18 with making a terroristic threat, a class D felony, and resisting arrest following the investigation into a post made on the social media app SnapChat on Oct. 17.

Police said “at no times was the public’s safety in question” to the post.

He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to the Lewis County jail with bail set at $7,500 cash.

Police were assisted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and Lewis County District Attorney’s Office.
