Lowville woman charged with DWI following accident, deputies say

LOWVILLE, NY  —  The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement on Oct. 4, 2026:

“On 10/03/2026, at 1:01 p.m., the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mary E. Burr, 45, Lowville, following the report of a motor vehicle crash on Outer Stowe Street nearest the Bardo Road intersection in the town of Lowville. Deputies report that while investigating the crash, Burr showed signs of impairment.

Burr underwent standardized field sobriety tests and subsequently failed. She was arrested and transported to the Public Safety Building where she was processed without issue.

Burr officially registered a 0.15 BAC and is officially charged with Driving While Intoxicated NYS VTL 1192.3 and Driving While Intoxicated; per se NYS VTL 1192.2. Burr was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Lowville Court at a later date.”
