CHAUMONT, NY – Lyme Central School is proud to announce the academic leaders for the Class of 2025.
Valedictorian: Ava Sugrue, daughter of Matthew and Kiah Sugrue, Chaumont
Salutatorian: Sofia Ososkalo, daughter of Daniel and Elena Ososkalo, Chaumont
Outstanding Career and Technical Leader: LillyAnne Mackey, daughter of Bryan and Sarah Mackey, Three Mile Bay
Ava Sugrue has been named Lyme’s Class of 2025 Valedictorian with a cumulative GPA of 97.89
Ava graduates with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation. Ava has maintained this impressive GPA all throughout high school while still giving back to both the school and community. Ava has been on high honor roll all throughout high school. She was inducted into Lyme’s chapter of National Honor Society her junior year. Ava has been an active member of the Student Council in which she has held the positions of President; an active member of Varsity Club in which she held the the position of President and Vice President; and has held the position of Class Treasurer her Junior and Senior year. Ava has also participated in various sports and activities here at Lyme. Many to include: Cheerleading; Varsity Soccer, Softball, and Golf; Book Club; and Prom Committee. Ava has also given back to the community through her time as a volunteer assisting with the Chaumont Fire Department’s Chicken Barbeques; working with and watching children of various ages for Lyme’s Parent Night Out event; and making/serving Christmas cookies for the community during the Holiday season. She received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award; the Clarkson University Achievement Award ($80,000 over four years); and the RIT Humanities and Social Sciences Scholarship ($76,000 Scholarship). Ava was also named the Channel 7 Academic All Star.
In the fall, Ava will be continuing her education at St. John Fisher University, majoring in Political Science and Pre-Law.
Sofia Ososkalo has been named Lyme’s Class of 2025 Salutatorian with a cumulative GPA of 97.66
Sofia graduates with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation. Throughout high school Sofia has maintained her high GPA and been an active member of both the school and community. She has been on High Honor Roll all throughout high school and was inducted into the Lyme chapter of the National Honor Society her Junior year of high school. Sofia has been an active member of Student Council in which she held the position of Treasurer; an active member of Varsity Club; and has held the position of Class Treasurer and Secretary. Sofia has also participated in various sports and activities here at Lyme. Many include: Soccer and Varsity Basketball; Book Club; Captains and Mates Buddy Program; Drama Club; various Musical Productions; Stage Crew; Future Business Leaders of America; and Prom Committee. Sofia has also given back to the community through her time as a volunteer assisting with the Chaumont Fire Department’s Chicken Barbeques; baking Christmas cookies with younger students for the community during the Holiday season; setting up the Youth Easter Egg Hunt; helping set up and run Lyme’s hosted Blood Drives; and working with students during Lyme’s Buddy Program. She received the Clarkson University Leadership Award ($100,000 over four years) and the RIT Business and Leadership Scholarship ($76,000 Scholarship).
In the fall, Sofia will be continuing her education at Jefferson Community College, majoring in Allied Health and Biological Sciences.
LillyAnne Mackey has been named Lyme’s Class of 2025 Outstanding Career and Technical Leader with a BOCES Veterinary Practices grade point average of 95.00
LillyAnne graduates with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation. Throughout high school LillyAnne has worked hard to maintain both her BOCES GPA and her high school course work. This dedication earned LillyAnne a spot in the National Technical Honor Society at BOCES. At Lyme, LillyAnne has also shown great dedication and hard work. She became a member of Lyme’s chapter of National Honor Society her junior year and has held the position of Vice President for her Class. LillyAnne has also been an active sports player and has participated in Cheerleading, Varsity Soccer and Varsity Golf. LillyAnne was named a Frontier League Scholar Athlete in grades 9-12; a Frontier League All Star her senior year; and a NYSPHSAA Section III Scholar Athlete her junior year. Beyond her school work LillyAnne has also given back to her community through donating and working at our local Breakfast with Santa event; setting up the Youth Easter Egg Hunt; and baking Christmas cookies with younger students for the community during the Holiday season. LillyAnne’s hard work and balance between both high school and BOCES has shown her dedication to her future and the amazing work and skills she will carry with her after graduation.
In the fall, LillyAnne will be continuing her education at Jefferson Community College, majoring in Business.
