WATERTOWN, NY — Lynda S. Burns, 75, of Watertown, formerly of Casselberry FL, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at the Samaritan Medical Center. Following a brief illness, she was surrounded by family and friends.
Lynda was born April 20, 1944, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Richard L. and Jane (Kilburn) Snyder. She was a graduate of Adams High School, and attended Oswego State College and Jefferson Community College where she earned her LPN license.
She married James “Chuck” Burns of Adams. The marriage ended in divorce but they remained friends.
In 1982, Lynda moved to Central Florida with her daughters where she pursued her nursing career working private duty nursing, as well as working at assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
In 2003, Lynda was given the blessing of being a grandmother to her one and only grandchild, a granddaughter, Cheyenne. Until her unexpected passing she spent all of her cherished time with her daughters and granddaughter.
In July 2019, Lynda, along with her daughters and granddaughter, moved back home to complete her journey to be closer to family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Janessa L. Burns and Nancy J. Hammond, both of Watertown, NY (formerly, Casselberry, FL); a granddaughter, Cheyenne W. Stanley of Watertown (formerly, Casselberry, FL); two brothers Bernard “Benny” Snyder, Auburn, Robert Snyder, Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
With respect to Lynda’s wishes, there will be no calling hours, but instead a Celebration of Life gathering to be held privately at the family’s convenience.
