Man accused of damaging cemetery in Oswego County, troopers say

MEXICO, NYJoseph R. Elacqua, 22, Central Square, was charged on Nov. 14 by state police with second-degree criminal mischief, a class “D” felony.

Elacqua is accused of with causing over $5,000 worth of damage with his vehicle to the lawn at the Mexico Village Cemetery on several dates in October, troopers said.

He was arraigned in the town of Albion Court and released on his own recognizance.

Elacqua is scheduled to appear Nov. 19 in Mexico Town Court.
