Man accused of kicking Watertown police officer in his face during arrest

WATERTOWN, NYTrevor J. Stanton, 18, of 243 Sterling St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:27 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at his residence with resisting arrest and two counts of second-degree harassment.

Mr. Stanton is accused of attempting to pull a cell phone out of the hand of Emmah M. Smithers, 18, Watertown, at about 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

He also allegedly kicked a police officer several times in his face, yelled at officers and refused to place his hands behind his back, according to court documents.

He was being held pending arraignment Tuesday afternoon in City Court.
