Man accused of shoving woman, taking her cell phone in violation of order of protection

WATERTOWN, NY —  Britton T.L. Grant, 29, of 24444 White Road, town of Pamelia, was charged by Watertown police at 4:27 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in the 800 block of W. Main Street with second-degree burglary, a felony, first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Grant is accused of violating the terms of a Jefferson County Court stay-away order of protection when he shoved the protected party, a 27-year-old woman, to the ground and jumped on top of her at about 4:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at 302 Central St., according to court documents.

He is also accused of taking a cell phone from her after she stated she was going to call for emergency assistance, police said.

He was being held pending arraignment in City Court.
