Man accused of striking another in head with tire iron, punching woman in Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — William A. Durgan, 35, of 24098 State Route 12, Apt. 3, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:09 a.m. Monday, July 8, in the 200 block of N. Rutland Street with second-degree assault, a felony, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Durgan is accused of a using a tire iron as a weapon and struck Jordan Savage, 28, Watertown, in his head causing several lacerations at about 12:25 a.m. Monday at 273 High St., police said.

He is also accused of kicking and punching Jeanie Fessette, 27, Watertown, several times during the same incident, according to court documents.

He was being held pending arraignment Monday morning in City Court.
