MEXICO, NY — On 06/07/18, at approximately 2:45 pm members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded to a possible stabbing outside the DSS building in the Village of Mexico.
Upon arrival, a male victim was found with a stab wound to the head.
The suspect had fled the scene prior to law enforcements arrival.
The male was transported via McFee Ambulance to University Hospital.
The suspect, Steven M. Haynes, Oswego, was located in the town of Mexico and taken into custody.
Mr. Haynes was transported to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and arrested for Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.
Mr. Haynes was arraigned in Mexico Town Court and remanded without bail.
