Man charged with burglary after stealing baseball bat from home, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Brian L. Friend, 37, homeless, was charged by Watertown police at 10:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, in the 100 block of S. Meadow Street with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Mr. Friend is accused of unlawfully entering 337 S. Meadow St. and stole a baseball bat valued at $10 belonging to a 25-year-old woman then fled on foot at about 10:06 p.m. Monday, according to court documents.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending a video arraignment.
