Man in critical condition after being ejected from vehicle in rollover accident in Greig, deputies say

LOWVILLE, NY — Lewis County sheriff’s deputies responded at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, to a single-car rollover accident with injury on Beals Road in the town of Greig.

“It was determined that the vehicle was traveling west on Beals Road in the town of Greig at an unsafe speed before the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled over, ejecting the driver, Tyler S. Spann, 19, causing a severe head injury. Mr. Spann was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica where he is listed in critical condition,” deputies wrote.

A 15-year-old female passenger was evaluated by EMS and was not injured during the accident, deputies said.

Deputies were assisted by state police, Lyons Falls Fire Department and Lyons Falls Ambulance.
