WATERTOWN, NY — A man was taken to Samaritan Medical Center by Guilfoyle Ambulance early Saturday morning following a reported altercation in downtown Watertown.
The incident occurred shortly at about 1:30 a.m. outside the former Avon Shoes storefront at 67-69 Public Square. Police reported as many as six people were fighting and requested mutual aid from other law enforcement agencies.
Responding police officers found the victim bleeding heavily, with shards of shattered glass and blood visibly littering the sidewalk in front of the vacant business.
City firefighters also responded to assist at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the victim’s identity, his current condition, or any potential suspects involved in the fight.
