LAFARGEVILLE, NY — Margaret L. Ward, 65, of County Route 15, LaFargeville, passed away, Thursday morning, Oct. 28, 2021.
Born July 31, 1956, in Watertown, NY, a daughter of Earl Eugene and Orpha Jean Maitland Smith, she was a 1975 graduate of Indian River Central Schools, Philadelphia, NY.
Margaret was a cook for various kitchens, New Pier Restaurant, Sackets Harbor, NY, Denny’s and Pizza Hut, both in Watertown, NY. Most recently she worked in the cafeteria at Jefferson Community College.
She loved sewing and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include, a daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and Kory Robbins, Clayton, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Jessica Ward, Watertown, NY; six grandchildren, Siera, Meka and Ami Robbins, Justin Ward, Jr., Kaden White-Robinson and Skylar White; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Helen and Edwin “Sonny” Fleming, LaFargeville, NY, Susan and Lynn Dafoe, Ontario, Canada, Christy and Rich Crabtree, LaFargeville, NY; a brother, David Smith, Rochester, NY; a sister-in-law, Barbara Smith, SC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, three brothers, Lawrence Smith, Gordon Smith and Dean Smith, a sister, Sydney Smith and a nephew, Lawrence Smith, Jr., all passed away previously.
Private burial will be in Evans Mills Cemetery at a later date.
