CLAYTON, NY — Mary G. Simpson, 87, residing at Strawberry Lane since 1999, Clayton, and formerly of Theresa, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Hospice of Jefferson County at Ellis Farm, Watertown, NY.
Born on May 25, 1931, in Elmo, KS, she was a daughter of Emanuel and Faye Jobe Heller and she was educated at local schools in Kansas.
Mary worked at the Theresa Primary School for 22 years, retiring in the early 1990’s. She also provided child care for local families for a time.
She enjoyed latch hook, ceramics and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law; Delores and Al Lamson, NH, Peggy and Phil Furr, NC, Susan Simpson, Clayton, NY; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Ernie Heller, MA, Willie Simpson and companion, Linda Coolidge, Theresa, NY, Kevin and Jeannie Simpson, KS, Fred and Chris Simpson, Watertown, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Barbara Heller, NC.
Her parents, two brothers, Duane Heller and Kenneth Heller, and a daughter-in-law, Audrey Simpson died previously.
Graveside services will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa, NY at a later date. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
