Mary Jean Hannon, 88, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Mary Jean Hannon, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2019, after residing at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown for the past 14 months, suffering from dementia, a disease that progressively affected her both mentally and physically over the past 10 years.

Born Mary Jean Dickerman, she was born and raised on the family farm in
Pittsford, VT, where she attended secretarial school.

In her 20s, Jean found a job in Syracuse, where she met and married Paul Hannon. They resided in the Adams area for most of their married years where they raised five children.

Jean worked in and out of the house for most of those years at Lunman’s in Adams and at the Adams Elementary Building. When her marriage to Paul ended in the 1970s, she moved to Loveland, CO, where she returned to school in her 40s to obtain her long lost dream of a nursing degree. Following her education, Jean
worked in the medical-surgical unit at a local hospital in Colorado until her
retirement.

Jean loved Colorado, meeting her significant other, Everett (Ev) there. They shared many happy moments until his passing.

She is survived by her children Diane (Jim) Radley, Cape Vincent, Mike (Kathy)
Hannon, Watertown, Leslie (Wes) Johnson, Clifton Park, Tim (Robin) Hannon,
Rodman and Patrick Hannon, Colorado; many grandchildren and great
grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents and siblings, Richard and Joan.

Services will be held for the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
