Michael D. Walker, 54, formerly of Nichols

THERESA, NY —  Michael D. Walker, 54, formerly of Lexington, SC and Nichols, NY passed away after a courageous battle on July 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Waverly, NY, and graduated from Tioga Central School.

Michael served honorably in both the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves and went on to earn numerous welding certifications.

He traveled the U.S. and internationally while working for the Iron Workers, Boilermakers & Pipe Fitters Unions for more than 20 years.

Michael enjoyed riding motorcycles, skiing, playing corn hole and smoking meat & deep-frying turkeys while spending time with family and friends. He was a NASCAR and Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick; two sons and their wives, Stephen (Kaitlyn) and Skyler (Alexandria); his granddaughter, Savannah; father and step-mother, Stephen (Dawn); three sisters and their husbands, Cindy (Scott), Krista (Harry) and Hope; his nieces and nephew, Kaitlynn, Morgan, Emma, Elizabeth, Edith and Augustus; his fiancée, Doris.

He was predeceased in death by his step-father, Frederick and his brother-in-law, Timothy.

Private services will be held at the family’s convenience.
