Norman H. Gee, 79, Theresa

THERESA, NY — Norman H. Gee, 79, of County Route 194, Theresa, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at his home.

Born April 15, 1939, in Watertown, NY, a son of Col. Clough F. and Eleanor R. Hawkins Gee, he graduated from Lyme Central High School in 1955, The Citadel in 1962 (The Military College of Charleston, SC) with a bachelor’s of science degree, East Texas State University in 1967 with a master’s degree in the sciences.

Norman married Norma J. Payne on Dec. 30, 1967, at the Orleans Four Corners Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Schrader officiating.

He taught school at Post High School, Post, TX, for 5 years and for 26 ½ years he was a science, earth science and chemistry teacher at Indian River Central School, Philadelphia, NY. He was also an adjunct professor at Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY, for computer programming.

Norman was a member of the Antwerp Queen of Sheba Masonic Lodge, New York State United Teachers for many years and the Town of Antwerp Tax Assessors for several years.

He enjoyed cutting trees, splitting wood, discussing politics, teaching, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Norma; a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Mitzi Gee, Palm Coast, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Kaz Tsuji, Theresa, NY; six grandchildren, Malcolm Gee, Maia Tsuji, Ahnika Gee, Theo Tsuji, T’kai Tsuji, Mica Tsuji; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, a brother, Lt. Clough F. Gee, II and a sister, Geraldine Gee, died previously.

Memorial Services will be 4 pm Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Orleans Four Corners Lutheran Church, 36135 Co. Rt. 15, LaFargeville, NY 13656 with Rev. Allan J. Ferguson, officiating. Burial will be in Orleans Four Corners Cemetery immediately following services.

Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY, and a Masonic Service at 5:45 pm.
