Norman P. Randall, 88, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Norman P. Randall, 88, Watertown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, at University Hospital, Syracuse, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be 4 pm Friday, Feb. 15, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.  Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home.

Born Oct. 23, 1930, in Watertown, a son of Joseph and Anna Barcomb Randall, he graduated from Watertown High School. He served with the US Navy following high school.

Norman retired from the New York Air Brake with over 35 years as an inspector.

Norman was a kind and generous man who often took the road less traveled. His knowledge of the people and places of the north country was legendary. His family enjoyed his many stories of the people he met, the places he saw, and the things he did during his many adventures with his life-long friends. He took solace in his faith as a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was good to his family and loved nothing better than to host large family meals. We will miss him.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis; four daughters, Robin (Ricky) Cook, Watertown; Rose (Torsten) Rhode, Canandaigua; Laurie (William) Robbins, Syracuse; Rebecca Randall and Patty Fay, Watertown; seven grandchildren, Sarah Colbert, Casey Cook, Samantha Cook, Nicholas Rhode, Matthew Rhode, Michael Rhode, and Thomas Robbins; three great-grandchildren, Daniel Cook and Giovanni and Gabriella Agosto; and many nieces and nephews including Thomas Randall and Dallas Bisnett, who were especially close to Norman and Phyllis.

He was predeceased by his parents and his five brothers and three sisters.
