ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY — On Jan. 15, 2020, at approximately 8:20 a.m., the Alexandria Bay Fire Department and the New York State Police responded to a reported structure fire at 2 Washington St. in the village of Alexandria Bay.
Subsequent to a joint investigation into the cause and origin of the fire by the Alexandria Bay Fire Dept., the Alexandria Bay Police Deparment, the New York State Police, the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control and the Jefferson County Office of Fire and Emergency Management Office the sole occupant of the upstairs apartment 29-year-old, Nicholas F. Leeson, 29, as arrested for second-degree arson, a class “B” felony.
Leeson was arraigned in Alexandria Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff on $20,000 cash bail / $40,000 bond.
