PULASKI, NY — On June 18, 2023, at 3:43 p.m., State Police in Pulaski responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 3 and Hager Drive in the town of Richland, Oswego County.
A 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer, operated by Nathanial W. Hunter, age 20 from Brownville, NY was traveling northbound on State Route 3 at a high rate of speed, passing several vehicles, in a No Passing Zone, that was also traveling north on Rt. 3 when he struck a 2000 Chevrolet Prizm, operated by Rodney E. West, age 64 from Oswego, NY on the driver’s side after he began to turn left onto Hager Drive. The Prizm then traveled off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
Nathanial Hunter was not injured in the crash. Rodney West along with three passengers including an 18-year-old male, a 17-year-old male, and a 14-year-old male were transported by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with non-life-threatening injuries.
State Police were assisted at the scene by NOCA Ambulance, McFee Ambulance, and Menter Ambulance.
The investigation is continuing.
