WATERTOWN, NY (NYSP news release) — State Police in Watertown are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of State Route 11 and I-781 exit ramp in the town of LeRay.
The investigation has revealed, at approximately 12:18 p.m., a 2010 KIA, operated by Grant L. Hall, age 86, from Philadelphia, NY, was traveling north on Rt. 11 when he drove passed a steady red signal and struck a 2021 Honda head-on.
The driver of the Honda, 28-year-old Brandon K. Kunz from Killeen, Texas, was transported to Samaritan Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Mr. Hall was airlifted from the scene to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and was listed in critical condition. At 11:25 p.m., Mr. Hall had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
