CARTHAGE, NY — On February 10, 2022, at about 6 p.m., State Police responded to a reported personal injury motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of State Street and Church Street in the village of Carthage.
The preliminary investigation determined that Donald B. Watson, age 80, of Natural Bridge, NY, was crossing State Street outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Michael J. McLane, 54, of Champion, NY.
Watson was transported to Carthage Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
