Pamela Jean Beck

BOONVILLE- Pamela Jean Beck, 58, of State Route 12, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at her home.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and William Sprowell  of Port Leyden; her grandchildren, Kallie Bauter, Kaylen Sprowell, and William Sprowell; her mother, Jean Beck of Lyons Falls; her brother, Joseph Beck of Corning, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; her friends and co-workers, who were important to her; and her beloved dog, Stella.  She was predeceased by her father, Frederick F. Beck.

Pamela was born on May 8, 1964 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Frederick F. Beck and Jean Marie Benedict Beck.  She graduated from South Lewis Central School in 1982.  While in high school she attended B.O.C.E.S in Glenfield for nursing, and attended weekend classes at St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, graduating in 1994.  She worked in various departments within Faxton-St.Luke’s Hospital, and then began her career as a Registered Nurse in labor and delivery at the Birthplace at Faxton-St.Luke’s Hospital, where she worked for many years.  Pamela also worked for the CNY Psychiatric Center in Marcy, and for the Oneida County Jail in Oriskany. 

Pamela attended Turin United Methodist Church, where she volunteered in various capacities.  She enjoyed traveling, and wintering beachside in Daytona Beach, Florida.  Pamela loved scrapbooking.  She also enjoyed watching Fox News, playing games, and watching Lifetime movies.  Pamela was an adventure seeker, which included skydiving, hot air balloon rides, and roller coasters.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  A graveside service for Pamela and her father will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, PO Box 682, Lowville, NY  13367.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
