WATERTOWN, NY — A prayer service for Pasquelina C. “Pat” Martini will be held 9 a.m. Friday, May 31, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Vincent Freeh officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, 632 State St., Watertown.
Mrs. Martini, 86, of Watertown, passed away Sunday morning, May 26.
Pasquelina was born July 15, 1932, in Watertown, a daughter to Peter and Maria Belli Fazio. She graduated from Watertown High School.
Pat married Mario “Bucky” Martini on Sept. 6, 1953, in St. Anthony’s Church.
Pat worked as a switchboard telephone operator for New York Telephone for several years. She later joined the family business, Avon Shoes on Public Square, and assisted her husband in the operation of the business for many years.
Mrs. Martini was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed
cooking for her family, reading, attending to her flowers, gardening and making
her annually- sought-after Christmas Bundt cakes for family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church or to the Sisters
of the Precious Blood, both in Watertown.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mario “Bucky” Martini, Watertown;
two daughters, Rhonda Romeo, Watertown and Maria (Carl) Ohlson, State
College, PA; five grandchildren Matthew and Justin Romeo, Eric, Elaina and Elisa
Ohlson; two great-grandchildren Gage Juiliani and Bricen Romeo; a sister, Celeste
Fenimore, Puyallup, WA; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Peter Fazio, and a sister, Antoinette “Toni” Fazio.
Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
