WATERTOWN, NY — Patrick M. Jank, 58, of Barben Avenue, Watertown, passed away on Sunday, March 24 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Calling hours will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at St. Patrick’s Church concluding with the Liturgy of the Hours at 7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at St. Patrick’s Church with Fr. Christopher Looby officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery.
Patrick was born in Watertown, New York, the son of Clayton M. and Mary Ann Slattery Jank. He was a 1978 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central School. He graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of Notre Dame and received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Boston University.
He was married to Mary W. Wells on May 25, 2002, at St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. Arthur LaBaff officiating.
Pat worked as a physical therapist throughout the north country, working the last 15 years at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Patrick was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a Deaconate candidate for the Diocese of Ogdensburg and active in his parish community.
He was a member of the Bishop Conroy General Assembly Fourth Degree, and the Watertown Knights of Columbus Council 259. He was also a life member of the Glen Park Fire Department, a member of the Dry Hill Ski Patrol, and the Northern Choral Society. He was very active in the sport of lacrosse having coached and he refereed at both high school and college levels. Additionally, he coached wrestling at General Brown. He enjoyed all forms of working out, running, lifting weights, bicycling, as well as skiing, sailing and had his pilot’s license.
He is survived by his wife, Mary W.; his three children; Martha A., Peter R. and Sam A. all at home, his father, Clayton M. Jank, Watertown; his three brothers, Robert E., Forestville, Thomas J. and Monica, Houston,TX, and Christopher J. and Paula of Watertown; his five sisters, Mary Ellen and Paul J. Kopydlowski, Lake Zurich, IL, Susan A. and Mark W. Sennett, Brighton, Regina L. and Mike Marcus, Greenfield Center; Carol A. Jank Watertown, Colleen J. Jank, Medford, MA; several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patrick was predeceased by his mother on Nov. 5,1996.
