WATERTOWN, NY — Patty A. Martin, 61, passed away peacefully Nov. 7, 2020, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. Â A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in North Watertown Cemetery.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1959, daughter of Harry E. and Patricia A. (Granger) Martin Sr.  Patty was born with Down Syndrome and she resided with her parents who cared for her up until they passed away. Patty then moved in with her brother James who cared for her for many years.
Patty could light up a room with joy and excitement; she loved celebrating her birthdays, watching soap operas, Hallmark Christmas movies, reading and cutting out pictures from entertainment magazines. She loved to dance and listen to music, she was a very lovable girl and you could always look forward to a hug and a smile from her. Most of all Patty enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending family gatherings.
Among her survivors are her five siblings, Vicky (Timothy) Steen, James Martin, Tammy (James) Mullis, Harry Martin Jr. and his companion, Vicki Cote, Penny Chenoweth and James Youngs Sr., all of Watertown; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by James wife Eva Martin and his companion Penny Cruz.
The family would like to thank the 4th floor at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home for the care and compassion they gave their sister during her stay at the nursing home.
