Paul A. Sanford, 68, LaFargeville

LAFARGEVILE, NY  — Paul A. Sanford, 68, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, after a lengthy illness.  Paul left this world peacefully with his family by his side.

He was born Aug. 5, 1952, he was the son of Eugene and Edna (Salter) Sanford.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Edna.

His sisters, Faith Sanford, Sharon Doldo and Marsha Ashland (Raymond) and a brother, Marc Sanford (Donna) also died before him.

Paul is survived by his three sons, Bryant, Dylan (LaFargeville) and Cody Sanford (Watertown), as well as his brother Bruce (Jacki) Sanford, sisters Dawn (John) Krupcale (Florida,) Gail Sanford ( Queensbury), April Slate (Wyoming) and Christine Rusaw (Theresa).  Paul was also loved dearly by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was a lifelong resident of the LaFargeville/ Clayton area and served by trade as a carpenter. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974 and served in Vietnam.

He was an outdoorsman. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He spent as much time as possible in nature and loved to feed his birds and especially loved cardinals.

When he was not exploring nature he was out visiting his many friends and family members. He loved to chat and tell stories wherever he went.

A marriage to the former Tina Mundt ended in separation.

Paul will be forever missed by those who loved him.

A spring service will be announced at a later date.
