Paul W. Cobb, 74, Mannsville

MANNSVILLE, NY — Paul Wayne Cobb, 74, Mannsville, passed away Monday at his home from a lengthy illness.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Elsa, daughter Jessica Cross (Levi), granddaughter Eden, and sisters Deanna Siegel and Tracey Burnash (Dean), nephew Matthew Burnash, nieces Stephanie and Jacqueline Siegel  and brother in law Jeffrey Siegel.

Paul attended and graduated from Union Academy of Belleville in 1961 and worked in various fields over the years, mainly farming and construction, earning a reputation as an excellent craftsman. Paul’s interests were expansive. He was an avid camper who also played guitar, painted, and loved sailing but probably spent the most time in the woods; he was a true sportsman.

Paul, born to Dee and Gloria Cobb (pre-deceased), grew up in Smithville spending much of his early years exploring Sixtown Pond, building a camp for himself there at age 18. He hunted, trapped and fished the Lakeview marsh area for decades. He hunted the Adirondacks, the Southern Tier and made expeditions to northern Quebec, Newfoundland, and New Mexico. More recently Paul spent time at his camp in Sabattis. He enjoyed paddling the various lakes in the region, fishing, and bringing his family and others to enjoy the experience.

Paul loved life, teaching others the things he’d learned, and having Elsa with him as they set off on another adventure. He will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 16484 Route 11, Adams.
