WATERTOWN, NY — Peter A. Augustine, 91, of Smith Street, Watertown, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Mr. Augustine was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Watertown, a son of Angelo and Nellie Dick Augustine .He attended Watertown High School and later received his GED. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged.
Mr. Augustine was employed with Cushman Builders Supply for thirteen years and then with BOCES as the head custodian for twenty two years, retiring in 1988.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the VFW Post #1400.
He had six children and was closest to his daughter Tina and son Angelo Peter, three grandchildren, Heather (Joe) Miner, Kassi and Katie Augustine, two great grandchildren, William and Charlie Miner, several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers Frank and James, two sisters, Carmella Steacy and Ann Hunter, all died before him.
An hour of calling will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc., followed by a 10:15 a.m. prayer service. A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church with Rev. Christopher Looby officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in the spring.
