Watertown Police Department:
Aaron S. Harris, 40, of 815 Rutland Place, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 6:16 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at his residence with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony. Mr. Harris is accused of possessing a stolen 2010 Carry On trailer belonging to Timothy Gardner, 53, Watertown, and worth $1,3000 at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday at 815 Rutland Place, according to court documents. He is summoned to appear Jan. 11 in City Court.
Amber M. Come, 33, Watertown, was arrested at 11:39 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, in the 600 block of Burlington Street on a warrant, according to the Watertown Police Department. She was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.
Danielle M. Freeman, 34, of 116 S. Meadow St., Watertown, was charged by state police at 1:36 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at Samaritan Medical Center, 830 Washington St., with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She is summoned to appear Jan. 6 in City Court.
Jonathan A. Campbell, 23, of 21201 Weaver Road, Watertown, was cited by Watertown police Wednesday evening, Dec. 22, with following too close after a two-vehicle accident. Police said Mr. Campbell was traveling east on W. Main Street at about 6:10 p.m. in a 2015 Ford sedan when he reached down to get an item off the floor of the vehicle and struck a 2019 Hyundai sedan operated by Mark C. Baintliff, 62, of 207 Parker St., Watertown, who had slowed down to make a right hand turn, according to an accident reported. Mr. Baintliff complained of lower back pain but declined medical treatment, police said. Mr. Campbell admitted to being at fault, police wrote. He is summoned to appear in City Court at a later date.
Watertown police investigated a car-deer collision at about 10:23 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, in the 700 block of Arsenal Street. Matthew C. Johnson, 28, of 25035 Cooper Ave., Calcium, was traveling east when a deer ran into the road near the Boon Street intersection and was hit by the 2019 Hyundai sport utility vehicle. Mr. Johnson was not injured, police said.

On Dec. 24, 2021, at approximately 4:32 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a small plane that had crashed in a field near 25717 Moffatt Road in the town of Lyme. On scene investigation revealed that the aircraft was a 1998 single engine Ultra-Light Lockwood Drifter fixed wing plane with a solo pilot on board. Investigation showed that the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing due to mechanical issues. The landing was successful and the plane suffered minor damage. No injuries were reported. The Federal Aviation Administration was advised and will follow up as necessary. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Chaumont Volunteer Fire Department and the Cape Vincent Ambulance Squad.
