Watertown Police Department:

The Watertown Police Department has implemented a new policy of delaying the release of their arrest reports on a daily basis.

Eric J. Lieberman, 36, homeless, was charged by Watertown police at 7:32 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at 230 Factory St. with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Lieberman is accused of stealing an Ace Trigger Torch valued at $26.99 when he concealed the item under his clothing and exited Ace Hardware, 531 State St., without attempting to pay at about 6:28 p.m. Aug. 28, according to court documents. Lieberman is summoned to appear Sept. 25 in City Court.

Crystal M. Moore-Sykes, 41, of 518 Waite Ave., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:44 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at 235 E. Division St. with second-degree harassment, a violation. Moore-Sykes is accused of tailgating a 36-year-old woman from Mill Street to E. Division St. for no legitimate reason causing alarm at about 12:23 p.m. Monday, according to court documents. She is summoned to appear Sept. 22 in City Court.

Dakota J. Marzano, 30, of 213 S. Rutland St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in the 100 block of Coleman Avenue with third-degree robbery, a felony, fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. Marzano is accused of violating the terms of an ordering of protection by causing physical injury to a 32-year-old woman when “he recklessly closed a wooden storm door with such force that it swung hard enough for several glass particles in the door to break once it struck the knee of the victim’s leg causing several lacerations,” at about 2:11 a.m. Saturday at 149 Coleman Ave., according to court documents. He is also accused of stealing the woman’s iPhone 15 valued at $1,500, police said. Marzano allegedly grabbed the shirt collar of a 58-year-old woman and pulled back hard enough to pull the victim to the ground during the same incident, according to court documents. He is also accused of stealing an iPhone 15 from the 58-year-old woman by forcibly removing it from her hand during the domestic incident, police said. One of the women was holding a 7-day-old child during the alleged theft, police said. Marzano was held for arraignment Saturday morning in City Court.

Xavier E. Mantock, 33, of 245 Central St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 6:58 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at 245 Central St. with making graffiti, a misdemeanor. Mantock is accused of spray painting “ONE LUV” and a picture of a face on the side of a residence at 243 Central St. without the express permission of the owner of the property at about 5:00 a.m. Aug. 31, according to court documents. Mantock is summoned to appear Oct. 2 in City Court.

Nicholas R. Camidge, 26, of 270 Mullin St., Apt. 205, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 9:17 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at 301 Arsenal St. with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Police allege he possessed a dagger and was previously convicted of false personation on April 15, 2019 in Carthage Village Court. Camidge was held for arraignment Sunday morning in CAP Court.

Kateland M. Corey, 34, of Swan Hallow Road, Alexandria Bay, was charged by Watertown police at 1:48 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at 650 Emerson St. with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Corey is accused of possessing four glassine envelopes containing fentanyl at about 1:06 a.m. Saturday at 650 Emerson St., according to court documents. Corey is summoned to appear Sept. 25 in City Court.

Thomas A. Griffin, 65, of 224 Sherman St., Apt. 2, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:16 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at 224 Sherman St. with third-degree falsely reporting an emergency, a misdemeanor. Griffin is accused of falsely reporting “the overdose of multiple subject, eliciting an emergency response from three agencies, while knowing that the information to not be truthful,” at about 11:31 a.m. Sept. 5 at 334 Clay St., according to court documents. Griffin is summoned to appear Sept. 26 in City Court.

Wesley A. Hughes, 31, of 1620 Huntington St., Apt. K6, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 9:39 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at 1708 Ohio St. with second-degree burglary, a felony, first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and two counts of second-degree harassment, a violation. Hughes is accused of attacking a man in close proximity to a 3-month-old boy at about 8:57 a.m. Friday at 1708 Ohio St., Apt. 65, according to court documents. He is also accused of violating the terms of a Family Court order of protection when he grabbed the protected party, a 24-year-old woman, by the shirt and bear hugged her from behind during the same incident, police said. Hughes was held for arraignment in CAP Court.

Al-Tariq Y. Crawford, Jr., 32, of 283 State St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:21 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, in the 200 block of State Street with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and second-degree harassment, a violation. Crawford is accused of violating the terms of a City Court order of protection after allegedly spitting in the face of the protected party, a 29-year-old woman, at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at 283 State St., Apt. 411, according to court documents. Crawford was held for arraignment Sunday morning in CAP Court.

Kara L. Garnsey, 30, of 541 Water St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 8:29 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the 500 block of Pearl Street with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Garnsey is accused of possessing 0.63 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, according to court documents. She was also arrested on a bench warrant. Garnsey was held for arraignment Saturday morning in City Court.

Jordan P. Ashley, 28, of State Route 3, Felts Mills, was charged by Watertown police at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the 300 block of Mechanic Street with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police allege Ashley possessed 1.88 grams of methamphetamine, Ashley is summoned to appear Sept. 23 in City Court.

Oliver L. Fleming, 23, of Hemlock Drive, Lowville, was charged by Watertown police at 1:21 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with second-degree harassment, a violation. Fleming is accused of striking a 26-year-old man on the hand with a phone cord at about 4:29 a.m. Aug. 23 in the 300 Eastern Boulevard, police said. Fleming is summoned to appear Sept. 15 in City Court.

Brooke-Lynn M. Sgroi, 25, of 214 Clinton St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at 214 Clinton St. with second-degree harassment, a violation. Sgroi is accused of grabbing a 24-year-old woman’s arm while the victim was calling the police at about 5:19 p.m. Aug. 10 at 214 Clinton St., according to court documents. “The defendant further grabbed the victim’s arm a second time, scratching the victim in two spots,” police wrote. Sgroi is ordered to appear Sept. 11 in City Court.

Billy Joe Barnett-Martin, 28, of 845 Starbuck Ave., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 7:59 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the 300 block of Mechanic Street with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended registration, both misdemeanors. He is summoned to appear Sept. 23 in City Court.

Nickholas T. Beutel, 26, of 137 Duffy St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at 650 State St. with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Beutel is accused of violating the terms of a Family Court order of protection with he sent several text messages to the protected party that were not pertaining to the children on Sept. 4, according to court documents. Beutel was held for arraignment in CAP Court.

Sierra B. Wetmore, 34, homeless, was arrested at 3:24 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the 100 block of 100 block of Mechanic Street on a bench warrant, according to the Watertown Police Department. Wetmore was held for arraignment Monday morning in City Court.

Edward J. Condit, 56, of US Route 11, Adams Center, was charged by Watertown police at 8:25 a.m. Sept. 2 at 247 Franklin St. with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended registration, and no insurance. Condit is summoned to appear Sept. 22 in City Court.

Stephen W. Tucker, 50, of 190 Stone St., Apt. 2, Watertown, was arrested at 12:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the 300 block of Academy Street on a bench warrant, according to the Watertown Police Department. Tucker was turned over to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Brianna M. Watts-Chainey, 37, of 190 Stone St., Apt. 2, Watertown, was arrested at 12:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the 300 block of Academy Street on a bench warrant, according to the Watertown Police Department. She was held for arraignment in CAP Court.

Kyle D. Gomez, 22, of W. Main Street, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 7:53 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the 800 block of W. Main Street with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended registration, a misdemeanor, and no insurance.

Carthage Village Police Department:

On Sept. 9, 2025, the Carthage Police Department charged Scott A. Campbell, 49, Carthage, NY, at 5:36 PM on West End Avenue in the Village of Carthage with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and an inadequate stop lamp. Campbell is to answer the tickets in the Village of Carthage Court on Sept. 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM.

On Sept. 5, 2025, The Carthage Police Department arrested Ralph J. Lentz, 72, Carthage, New York. Lentz is alleged to have stepped into Church Street with a large dog in front of a vehicle refusing to get out of the street blocking the vehicle from moving, police said. Lentz then struck the hood of the vehicle which was occupied by a female driver along with a 2 year old child and 3 year old child, police said. Lentz was charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct (NYS PL 240.26 SUB 5) a violation of law and two counts of Endangering the welfare of child (NYS PL 260.10) a class A Misdemeanor. Lentz was arraigned in Jefferson County Centralized Arraignment Parts Court where an order of Protection was issued and Lentz was released on his own recognizance.

The defendant was found driving a black 2003 Harley Davidson on Parker Street, pulling into 123 Parker Street. The Harley Davidson motorcycle was reported stolen from the Ogdensburg area, police said. The defendant was also found to be driving with a suspended New York drives license. During the arrest, the defendant was further found in possession of methamphetamine, police said. The defendant was issued appearance tickets with a Gouverneur Town Court date.

Larceny. The defendant stole the victim’s Community Bank debit card and used the card at the Gouverneur 7-Eleven Convenience Store to purchase $24.39 worth of gasoline, police said. The defendant was issued appearance tickets with a Gouverneur Town Court date.

Kaitlin E. Plantz, 36, Dexter, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 2:09 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Glen Park Fire Department with aggravated driving while intoxicated, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, and failure to keep right A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries harsher penalties upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or greater. Her BAC was 0.23 percent, deputies said. Plantz is ordered to appear Sept. 29 in CAP Court.

Kara L. Garnsey, 30, Watertown, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Garnsey is accused of concealing baseball trading cards and five boxes of Legos insider her back pack and exited Target, 21800 Towne Center Dr., town of Watertown, without attempting to pay at about 12:00 p.m. Aug. 12, according to court documents. Deputies listed the total value stolen at $233.52. Garnsey is ordered to appear Sept. 25 in CAP Court.

Morgan A. Gayton, 31, of Phelps Street, Watertown, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 7:27 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Walmart, US Route 11, town of LeRay, with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Deputies did not provide further details of the arrest. Gayton is summoned to appear Sept. 27 in City Court.

Christopher W. St. Joseph, 42, Brownville, was charged by state police at 11:51 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in the village of Brownville with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Troopers did not provide the BAC or further details of the arrest. St. Joseph is summoned to appear in court at a later date.

Michael R. Ross, 44, Liverpool, was charged by state police at 10:51 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, in the town of Hounsfield with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Troopers did not provide the BAC or further details of the arrest. Ross is summoned to appear in court at a later date.

Wickham, 39, Constantia, was charged by state police at 5:08 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, in the town of Parish with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, following a 2-vehicle property damage accident on Interstate 81. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Troopers did not provide the BAC or further details of the arrest. Wickham is summoned to appear in court at a later date.

Randy G. Briggs, 44, Canton, was charged by state police at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in the town of Canton with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated – child passenger less than 16, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Troopers did not provide further details of the arrest.

Dariush Shojai, 35, Staten Island, was charged by state police at 3:17 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, with second-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, following a single vehicle property damage accident on State Route 13 in the town of Williamstown. Troopers did not provide further details of the arrest.

Brent D. Storie, 33, Gouverneur, was charged by state police at 2:03 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in the village of Gouverneur with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Troopers did not provide further details of the arrest. Storie is summoned to appear in court at a later date.

Jaycee H. Cronk, 23, Gouverneur, was charged by state police at 8:10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the town of Canton with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended registration, a misdemeanor. Cronk is summoned to appear in court at a later date.
