Police investigating child being hit by car in 900 block of Gotham Street

Emergency personnel respond to Gotham Street for a car-pedestrian accident

WATERTOWN, NY —  A child was taken to Samaritan Medical Center after being hit by a car on Gotham Street between Ward and Harewood streets at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

City police are investigating. Further details have not been released.

Initial reports suggested the child was an 8-year-old girl.

City firefighters and Guilfoyle Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Watertown City School District Superintendent Patricia LaBarr and staff from Knickerbocker Elementary School also responded to the scene.
