Port Leyden man charged with DWI following investigation of July accident, deputies say

LOWVILLE, NY —  Philip R. Reiter, 33, Port Leyden, was charged by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday, Aug. 20, with driving while intoxicated, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to maintain lane and speed not reasonable and prudent.

The arrest is the result of an investigation of a personal injury accident at about 7:55 p.m. July 13 on Number Four Road in the town of Watson.

His blood alcohol content was 0.12 percent, deputies said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.

He is summoned to appear in Watson Town Court at a later date.
