Potsdam man arrested for alleged rape

STOCKHOLM —  On June 10, 2020, State Police arrested 19-year-old Troy L. Sweeney of Potsdam following an investigation into an alleged rape that occurred on May 13, 2020, in the town of Stockholm.

Sweeney also provided the 16-year-old victim with marijuana, troopers said.

Sweeney was charged with one count of third-degree rape, one count of criminal third-degree sex act, second-degree criminal sale of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned before St. Lawrence County Court where he was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to reappear in the Town of Stockholm Court at a later date.
