Rap star Nelly to return to NYS Fair

SYRACUSE, NY —  Fair fans will get to shake their tailfeathers all over again when Nelly returns to the Great New York State Fair for a performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, on the Chevy Park stage in the New York Experience festival grounds. Nelly drew more than 33,000 people to Chevy Park in 2021.

All concerts in the Chevrolet Music Festival are free with Fair admission.

Concerts at the Fair are sponsored by Chevrolet.

Fair Director Troy Waffner said, “Nelly’s show last year was one of the biggest in Fair history and we are fortunate to be able to bring him back so quickly. This will be a great night for those who love hip hop like I do.”

Chevrolet Music Festival concerts announced to date include:

  • The Art of Rap featuring Ice-T, 8 p.m. August 25, Chevy Park stage

  • 24KGoldn, 8 p.m. September 2, Chevy Park stage

Founded in 1841, the Great New York State Fair showcases the best of New York agriculture, provides top-quality entertainment and is a key piece of the state’s CNY Rising strategy of growing the Central New York economy through tourism. The 2022 Fair runs from August 24 to September 5.
