Regina Banks, Dexter

DEXTER, NY  —  Regina Banks, Dexter, NY, passed on to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 22, 2023, after a short illness.

At her request, a private graveside service will be held at the Dexter Cemetery at a later date. Cleveland Funeral Home of Watertown is assisting the family. Online
condolences may be left at www.clevelandfhinc.com.

Born in Potsdam NY, she was married to Harold Banks in 1953 and was a lifelong resident of Dexter thereafter, residing in a beloved home always adorned with gardens of beautiful flowers that brought her great joy.

In earlier days, she was a favorite Mom in the neighborhood known for trips to Wescott Beach with a station wagon full of kids, epic croquet games in the backyard and chocolate chip cookies even Mrs. Fields would envy.

Her abiding love for children led her to serve families in the nursery at Parkside Bible Church for almost 20 years, where she was still lovingly greeted as ‘Miss Reggie’ at a recent gathering there in September.

A dynamo of energy, she also served in the nursery for the Watertown Christian Women’s Club (later known as Watertown Women’s Connection) for nearly 40 years. She embodied Christ’s words “Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me” and truly of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Regina is survived by her four children, Sue (James) Kirch, Robert Banks, Sheryl (Jeffrey) Bebernes and Debra (David) Hanas, as well as five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her dear brother Robert (Moira) Rose of Potsdam, many nieces and nephews, and enduring friends she considered just as close as family. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations may be made to Mars
Hill Network Christian Radio, 4044 Makyes Road, Syracuse NY 13215.
