Richard J. Black, 69, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Richard J. Black, 69, Watertown, passed away Wednesday, May 30, at his summer residence in Sackets Harbor.

Born Nov. 23, 1948, in Alexandria Bay, a son to Lawrence and Katie Sulier Black, he was educated locally.

In 1969 he began a 22-year career with the United States military. During that time he served with both the United States Army and the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1991.

Richard was a truck driver for several years with local organizations. He also worked at Walmart on Arsenal Street.

Richard was a member of the LaFargeville American Legion Post 1788.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Black; three children, Lesley and Mason Palmblab of Colorado Springs, Tawny Embly of Nevada, Andrew and Jayna Bouvia of Watertown; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Noah, Anthony, Gloria, Evyn, Camden, Riley; a great-grandchild, Adonis; and two brothers, Norm and Cindy Black of Watertown, Gary and Sue Black of Dexter.

He was predeceased by four brothers, John, Les, Leo, and Bob.

A memorial service will be held for family at a date and time yet to be determined.
