WEST CARTHAGE– Robert “Bob” C. Grant, aka “DocBob”, 47, of North Broad Street, passed away on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at his home.
He was born on May 14, 1976, in Rockville Centre, New York to Clinton Paul Grant & the Late Cynthia Sanders Grant. He graduated from East Rockaway High School.
He was a former firefighter for several departments including East Rockaway, West Carthage, Pamelia, Deferiet, Evans Mills, and Great Bend.
He is survived by his father, Clinton (Ruth) Grant, Plattsburgh; his siblings, Clinton Paul (Mary) Grant Jr., Watertown; Michael (Lori) Grant, East Meadow, NY; and a sister, Catherine Grant, Peru, NY. Along with his nieces and nephews, Paul & Derek, Sarah & Sammy, and many special cousins, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends.
Bob enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, playing cards, and puzzles with friends.
He was the most loving and caring brother; he loved his family gatherings and adored his fire & church family. He was a past member of the Cobra Drill Team. Thank you for always looking out for him & letting him be a part of the EMS and Fire community. The family would also like to thank all the doctors, nurses & caregivers who looked after Bob all through the years!
Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, a calling hour will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Lundy Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow and will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Black River Cemetery.
“Because of his devotion to the fire service, Bob’s last written wishes were to see more training for EMS/Fire Service along with a new training facility in Jefferson County.”
