Robert C. Ackley, Sr., 77, Adams Center

ADAMS CENTER, NY — Robert C. Ackley, Sr., 77, Adams Center, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, at his home while under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown.

Born Oct. 7, 1942, in Adams, NY, to Ralph and Edna Norman Ackley, he attended schools locally.

He worked for Taylor Concrete for 45 years working in various departments of the company.

On Sept. 12, 1987, he married Beverly Dyer in Adams Center.

Bob was well known for the bands that he played in for over 50 years, he also played for the fiddlers for several years. He made several great friends over the years while he was playing and considered them all to be his family. He enjoyed meeting friends for morning coffee and going hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly, Adams Center; his children, Linda Liner, North Carolina; Robert (Linda), Ackley, Jr., Watertown; Melissa Ackley, Sackets Harbor; Timothy (Erin) Ackley, Watertown; 4 step-children, Terry (Cristy) Bush, Vermont; Tom Bush, Copenhagen; Timothy (Melissa) Bush, Richland; Todd (Kristin Ramus) Bush, Adams Center; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his three sisters, Peg LaRock, Annie Randall, Janet Brassie and two brothers, John and Donald Ackley.

Bob’s family would like to thank Hospice of Jefferson County for the wonderful care that was given to Bob.

Per Bob’s wishes there will be no services.
