MANNSVILLE, NY —Â Robert S. Austin, 89, Mannsville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
The funeral will be 3 pm Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Mannsville, following the service.
Robert was born in Jacksonville, Fla., the son to Seymour and Elizabeth Richardson Austin.
He married Alice Millious on July 6, 1947 in Watertown, NY. Mrs. Austin passed away March 28, 1993.
He worked for several years as a mason with the Mason’s Union.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (Ottie Stock) Denny, Mannsville; JoAnne (Art) Phillips, Adams; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his parents, wife Alice, a son Robert Austin, a daughter Bonnie Gardner and two sisters, Marylou Lieblong and Betty Jane Olander.
Robert enjoyed refurbishing old cars, collecting antiques, taking care of animals and spending time with his family.
