THERESA, NY —Â Roderick H. Mathews, 80, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Summit Village, Watertown where he had been a resident.
Born March 21, 1940, in Olean, NY, he was the son of Hubert A. and Nina V. Roberts Mathews.
As a young boy the family moved to Batavia, NY, where he was educated in local schools.
He was proud to be a marine and served in the USMC from 1959Â to 1963.
He was employed for many years with Agway in Batavia as a truck driver, retiring due to ill health.
Survivors include two sons, Philip, Wellesley Island, and Ronald, OK; two daughters, Rebecca S. Plummer of Bradford, PA and Barbara Horten of Syracuse; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Constance Bauer, Alexander, NY; nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at a later date.
